St. Michael the Archangel is the most powerful angel, because St. Michael the Archangel is the Prince of the Heavenly Host.
However, the Blessed Virgin Mary is even more powerful than St. Michael is, because the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother Of God.

depends on your idea of power and which side. Lucifer a.k.a. Satan was the first angel after God himself and was cast out of heaven for disagreeing. Not much more powerful than that. On the good side i'd say Gabriel. He is the angel god has set to guard the gates to the garden of Eden to prevent man from ever re-entering. Pretty heavy. I am an atheist but some of these fairy tales are pretty entertaining and made for good reading in sunday school.

There are alot fo angels, and they are all powerful in their own domains!
but being powerful isnt like they can do what they want according to their own will, as non of them can really do anything without God empowering them!
But certainly angel Gabriel is the highest rank of all the angels.

Daniel 12:1 "At that time Michael the Archangel, who stands guard over your nation will arise." Dan. 10:13 "...But Michael, one of the chief princes...." The Bible only recorded that Michael being 'one of' the chief princes or archangel. Meaning there are more such as himself.

It is Lucifer, because he is the angel of light. My understanding is he betrayed God and he was separated from God. He deceived about one third of the angels in Heaven and they too were separated from God because they followed the angel of light. This is why I believe Lucifer is the most powerful angel.
