I have heard of a few really hardcore churches banning the use of tampons, because they argue that it compromises a girl's virginity. But I've never heard of a religious group banning pads.

I'm not sure if the Mennonites and the Amish have a specific religion they follow...but maybe the women use cloth instead of pads.
Pads are a new invention after all.
