What do you mean they believe in Christ? The Christ that is the brother of Lucifer? The Christ that appeared in the Americas? The Christ they had to come up with a new gospel (testament) at the hands of the angel Moroni?

"It is from the Book of Mormon that we gain the concept of a 'plan of salvation.' This phrase is not a part of the vocabulary of theology of the Bible-believing world. The idea is not found in the Bible. We know it should be there, because we have it in the book of Moses (Moses 6:62), but the Bible as we have it today does not contain any reference to a divine plan for the salvation of men." - Doctrinal Commentary on the Book of Mormon v1 R. Millet

The Book of Mormon has been advertised in the Reader's Digest as "Another Testament". The quote above puts it on the level of "another gospel" as was given to Joseph Smith through the angel Moroni. Just this very "message" was given the only double Anathema in scripture by apostle Paul.

Galatians 1:8-9
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

You can consider yourself a Christian. Be sensitive and liberal and pronounce them Christian. But which Christ? Which gospel? They are Mormons. Good people? Yes. Sincere? Very. Sold a bill of goods? Absolutely.

I do not think that their book of Mormon is God inspired or should be treated with the same reverence as the Holy Bible. The last book in the Bible, Revelation, clearly says that no one is to add or take away from the Bible. Adding a book, calling it God inspired equal to the Bible is direct defiance of what is commanded in the Book of Revelation. Also, I feel that at least one, maybe more, of their practices (the underwear garment) is ritualistic, typical of religion. So in the sense of, are they Christians as other denominations say they are Christians, I suppose they could be. Out of all the religions that claim to be Christian, one major thing lacks with a great deal of the followers, that is a relationship with Christ Jesus. Christianity is about being like Christ and following his ways and obeying his commandments. It is about a personal relationship with God. Christianity is not about religious practices and man made ideas that must be followed. The Bible is the infallible truth and all that is needed. There is not a need to add to it. God has already written his love letter to humanity that is directions for life.

Edit: When I say the Bible is all that is needed, I mean as it is, nothing more said. First and foremost of course, salvation through acceptance of Jesus Christ's GIFT (not earned!) by his sacrafice on the cross and his rising the 3rd day to defeat death is the only way to heaven. Forgiveness of sins through Jesus is the Way!

I Love Mormons Darlin
But I'm Very Concerned About There Salvation

Lots Of People Are Named Jesus
Like in Mexico

& Only Jesus who is Almighty God Manifest in the Flesh, Seen on of Angels , Jesus The Christ The ONLY Begotten Son (Not Lucifers Brother) Can Die on the Cross for you sins

Unfortunatly The Mormons Have a Different Jesus
Who is Not Defined As Almighty God Manifested in the Flesh that the Fullness of the Godhead dwells into bodily

Jesus Martinez Can Not be the Propitiation For Your Sins
& Beings That The Mormons Have A Different Jesus
Than The one God Has Prescribed as The One we Need to Have in order for our Sins to be Forgiven to Get into Heaven

I'm Really Concerned for them
Their are however probably some Professed Mormons who Don;t even Know what their own Church teaches & may Have inavertantly recieved The Correct Jesus & Their OK

But To Answer You Question , Mormons & J.W's Are Not Real True Christians , Sorry Hunny But Yeah I Feel More Sorry For Them & Hope They Come around to the truth , Pray For them

I used to be Mormon. The answer is that some Mormons may be Christian. It's not up to me to say who is and who is not. That is between you and God.

I was not a Christian when I was Mormon. I am no longer a Mormon but I am a Christian now. Being Christian means that you have accepted Christ into your heart, and you have faith that He died for your sins. You can't DO anything to save yourself. Mormons teach that your good works take you to heaven.

Romans 10:9 - If you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved from the punishment of sin.

Mormons teach that you just have to believe in Christ - well even Lucifer Believes in Christ. They teach that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers. NOT SO! And that the only reason You are not Christ is that Jesus was born before you. He's your brother. NOT SO!!

They adhere to many of the teachings of Christ and generally are moral and giving and kind people....they do not however believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ...this more than any other doctrine sets Mormons and Christians apart from enjoying mutual fellowship in God. There are many other doctrinal differences as well....however this one doctrinal difference alone is worthy of a period(there is no need to look any deeper)

Yes, the Latter Day Saints are a denomination of Christianity, along with Protestants, Catholics, and all the rest. They believe in the New and Old Testaments, as well as believing in Jesus and living by his teachings. They do believe in prophets of the past and present, and follow additional scriptures, but the base of the religion is still the same.

I am a Baptist, my husband is a mormon, before we were married, I thought there was very little difference in their beliefs. Now i know there is a massive difference. I do not personally believe he worships the same Jesus that I know and love. Thats my opinion. If you want to know my reasons you will have to email me.
