If he doesnt start pulling better wins, UPS better start looking for fresh blood - they are a corporate sponsor and its pitiful that their driver barely in the races

Michael Waltrip and Dale Jarrett are very good spokespeople. That is why UPS went with him instead of sponsoring the #88. I think DJ can still race, but what can you expect with the equipment he has and a new manufacturer and race team. Also, what can you expect when he is the only one some weeks making the race at Michael Waltrip Racing. I think UPS will retain sponsoring his car through his career because there are few really good spokespeople in NASCAR today, especially in the new younger drivers.

A lot of drivers do commercials so I don't think that really has affected how poorly he's done qualifying and how he's raced. The bottom line for DJ's problems are simple, Michael Waltrip Racing & Toyota.

The true is, DJ hasn't been competitive for years and then switching to MWR made things worse. Dale is a good guy, but in my opinion he needs to retire like a few others, Sterling Marlin, Ricky Rudd, Kyle Petty, Kenny Wallace.

I really like Dale Jarret, Love the commercials too. They pull in business for UPS also. I know there's a commercial that looks like the big brown truck is being raced, and I Laugh every time I see it, just cracks me up! Everybody needs laughter, and he delivers it very well. I'm stil waiting for him to Really Race the Big Brown Truck. Heee Heeee

I was thinking that myself. He always has a lot of commercials. Most of them are funny, but his career has been on the skids for years. Moving to Toyota didn't help him out. So I wonder if UPS will end up dropping him. Especially in another couple of races when he might not even be qualifying. I'll miss those commercials though.

The commercials are all part of the package with UPS.Sure Dale could do better and he is the one Toyota driver I have seen any real gains in his team.Looks as if he could score the first win for them if he is consistant. He is doing somewhat better in quailifing and this makes better racing for him.

DJ's problem is not the amount of commercials he is making, it is the fact that he is past his prime. He is no longer sharp enough to compete at the top. He is still a good race car driver, but he has lost his edge. The only top-10s we'll see from him will come from pit strategy.

Yeah, he totally needs to focus more on the races than the commercials. Who knows how long it's been since he won a race? He's getting to old for Nascar anyways.

I think DJ is a great spokesperson for UPS and a great driver. At least he's not out on the track trying to wreck other drivers and run them off the road like Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart who both will do anything to win it seems!!

lol, Agreed. As much as I love SOME of those UPS/MWR commercials, MWR needs to focus all their attention to their on track efforts. Not making races, and finishing in the 30's every weekend is not going to cut it... Unless Mikey wants to be a 3 car field-filler team. And if he can't make races, HE CANT EVEN BE THAT! MWR and Toyota need to re-think things, and start over!

NO. The Jarret commercial's are the only time you get to see him during a race...LOL

Plus there usually pretty good.
