No, the planet will thrive far into the future. Mankind, as all other dominant species, will eventually perish, but this sweet planet that we call home will continue on for a long, long time. Time will provide forgiveness for our transgressions as thousands of planetary ecological cycles pass. Life will proceed on Earth. It is only the forms of life that are in question. Don't worry about this planet. It, unlike us, has staying power.
But most of all, don't listen to these idiots. Something far better than ourselves will eventually thrive.

Eventually, inevitably, yes. It might be a gazillion years from now, it might be tomorrow, but the universe is a place of such violent and chaotic change that earth is doomed to oblivion at some point in time.

that's a a question of time scale. interior the long-term (billions of years) the Earth is doomed because of fact it's going to be enveloped by the nova which will eat the solar. On shorter time scales, the destruction of the Earth seems a distant threat. pollution, international warming & all-out conflict (nuclear, chemical & organic and organic) are issues that would desire to correctly endanger existence on the earth. yet none of those issues threaten the existence of the international. enable us to evaluate a worst case subject wherein pollution, international warming & source depletion ends up in all-out conflict to establish who gets the relax scarce aspects. certainly one of those sequence of activities could lead on directly to the destruction of maximum (or all) existence on the earth. yet even however decreased to a dull, ineffective ball, the Earth itself will proceed to exist.

Yes, if we don't do anything about GLOBAL WARMING our planet will just keep fading away. We have to stop polluting the environment with CO2.
