No, I am sick of it too. The "sky is falling" crowd will lead us to ruin as a nation if we don't stop them. They would shut down all industry in the USA and ship the jobs overseas and turn us in to a third world country all for some flawed global warming crap. Did you notice that the ones flying around preaching this are all filthy rich so not having a job won't hurt them at all. But they don't care about us, as long as they "feel" good about helping the earth. Total crap, Don't get me started!

I have to thank you for your comment. You bring to light a very good point, in billions of years the earth will probably be a totaly different place than it is right now and therefor why should i care about what happens to it. (Does that sum things up the way you see it?)
First let me tackle that issue... Sure in a billion years we won't be here. For that matter most things we know today will have been gone for a billion years. However in twenty years, the world you live in will be dramaticly different than it is today. So much so that we may be struggling as a population to maintain the level of civilization that we currently enjoy today. Species such as the Polar Bear and Goanna will be near extinction. This will cause a major paradox within the ecosystem and species that once had predators to balance their populations will be left unchecked causing even further damage to the ecosystem. This cycle will continue through from the biggest to the smallest organism untill nature is out of balance so much so that humans themselves are affected.
That said we have to consider that it is not just animals that will ultimately be affected but plants as well. A prime example of that can be seen in the decline of the Honey Bee populations. With out these bees a majority of the crops that we cultivate to sustain our own lives and the lives of our livestock will go with out pollination that means less seed. And less seed means less crop for the next season and less bees as a result of the declining food sources for the colonies and the cycle continues. So the question is Why should you care? Because you are going to be affected weather directly or indirectly and you will feel it. I don't know if you'll notice the weather changes or the prices of corn and flour or if the price of milk or gasoline will be noticed more but. One thing for sure you should care because this is now and in a billion years it won't matter what you did today but tomorrow it will so you might want to think realisticly and consider your options. In twenty years our world is going to be totaly different are you ready?

all of this is just the beginning
the build up
to prepare humanity
and it may bore you
but you wont be bored forever
the time is gonna come ,maybe when you are a granny or maybe sooner ,when water will cost the same as whiskey, and good real food will be very hartd to find and expensive ,
and maybe all of life will change around you ,different transport ,maybe a totally different climate out side etc
then dont be suprised
,people must realise that we are a componant of the environment and we are the only componant that does not abide by Natures rules of equilibrium.
Already there have been secret Bilderberg meetings in kopenhagen in 1998 where it was discussed that the world population should be cut down by 60%,lets hope you and me are not part of that ,but somehow i think we are .the 40% is strickly elite and their slaves
life will become very cheap in the future

Everyone is sick of the wacko tree-huggers and PETA types that think the world would be better off without people.
They are no different then monks in the middle ages who flogged themselves with knotted ropes to become more pious and closer to god.
The bottom line is, anyone with a standard of living somewhat above freezing in a tee-pee and watching their children die of diptheria at age five must be raping the environment.
Except for true believers like Al Gore, who like their mansions, humungous electric bills, and jet travel, but somehow their rape of the environment doesn't count.
Civilization as we know it could disappear at anytime because of well known documented threats, that include total thermonuclear war, meteor strike, tsunamis, yellowstone super volcano eruption, bird flu pandemic, etc.
So why not live life to the fullest, and live each day like it is your last?
You think anyone is going to get special brownie points for composting if a 100 km diameter meteor hit the earth tomorrow and only the amobae survived?
Don't under estimate the ability of do-gooders to make things worse and spread misery.
Adam Smith, the famous economist, said, "Virtue is more to be feared than vice, because its excesses are not subject to the regulation of conscience".
For just one example of how do-gooders have killed people, see:
http://www.unesco.org/courier/2001_01/uk/planet.htm
"The story beggars belief. In the 1970s, international agencies headed by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) began pumping millions of dollars of aid money into Bangladesh for tubewells to provide “clean” drinking water. According to the World Health Organization, the direct result has been the biggest outbreak of mass poisoning in history. Up to half the country’s tubewells, now estimated to number 10 million, are poisoned. Tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands will die. Why? Because nobody tested for the natural poison, arsenic, widely found in underground water."
Just thank god that the UN unleashes these clowns on third world nations and africa to wreck their damage.
The compact fluorescent light bulb might turn into an environmental debacle. Each bulb can contain 5 mg of mercury, and mercury is among the worse pollutants imaginable, almost in a class by itself.
So people want to deliberately introduce a zillion fragile bulbs containing mercury into the consumer population?

Things will actually get a lot worse in the next 20 years. So you will know yourself. But your gluttonous approach that you think you can ruin what ever you want because your a lazy American is very normal. And unfortunately the problem. If the Earth continues to change we will all pay for it within in our lives. Every other country in the world is ahead of us on this because we are so lazy. Sorry you feel inconvenienced!

It's nice that you only care about yourself, and that for your desire to drive a Hummer you're willing to cause pain and suffering for countless millions in future generations, however, many people do not share your feelings. On the other hand, it's true that things won't turn out as bad as environmentalists suggest, that's only because of human effort and ingenuity.

Doesn't much matter what you do if you are thinking in terms of a billion years. There won't be any humans around any more then anyway. No species except bacterial types lasts that long.
