You're going to get a lot of leviathon answers here...

The real question would be why were they created only to be destroyed by an all knowing god with the ability to see the future and witness events before making said life. Also, why destroy an entire species and make no "real" mention of them to your "chosen" species? The funniest arguement I ever heard was that satan put the bones there to lead us to science. Simple fact: THE EARTH IS BILLIONS OF YEARS OLD! Not thousands, if you don't believe it, look at the evidence and if you still don't, then you are hopelessly brainwashed and not worth the effort.

Of course, all those that use the behemoth and leviathon arguements must also believe in unicorns and dragons, as they are mentioned in multiple old texts. Apparently that passes for truth.

To everyone that has been saying that "Oh, dinosaurs were extinct before the bible was written", correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a quote in the bible that says something like "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth". Uh, surely the dinosaurs were around AFTER the creation of the heaven and the earth, therefore why weren't they mentioned?!?

There are a few large creatures mentioned in the bible, maybe three times total in the whole book. Some people think those might have been dinosaurs. They are described in very general terms and are given names that we have no knowledge of. The only thing that is clear from the descriptions is that they were large. The bible does not spend alot of time describing animals and plants in general. Animals and plants are only mentioned when relevant to a description of human activity.

the word dinosaur was not used until the late 1800's, well after the Bible was written. I can think of at least a couple of places in the Bible that speaks of animals which the description seems to possibly be of dinosaurs.

Do you believe Hurricanes, Volcanoes, and Twisters existed in Biblical times? Even though these things are not mentioned by name, I am quite sure they were still occuring on the planet. I am not sure, or not, if dinosaurs ever existed.
Some archaelogical discoveries are quite compelling. The explantaion of these bone formations is equally compelling.
Imagine if you will, eight thousand years of animals multiplying and dying, the numbers would be in the hundreds of billions.
Let us project that in the one spot of earth, hundreds of animals have died, their bones and DNA mixing together over the centuries. Then one day somebody digs in this spot and discovers the bones and it appears to be a lizard creature with wings. They dig it up and carefully put the bone fragments in an order that appears to make sense.
Perhaps two or more large mammals died on this spot and due to the earth shifting over centuries, the bones have spread out somewhat giving the appearance of a very large animal. No one can say for sure, whether or not, dinosaurs existed. It is all theory and conjecture and circumstantial evidence. History does prove one thing to us however, and that is: Christ Jesus did exist, He does exist and He is God Almighty. God Bless You....Peace.

Although dinosaurs are part of God's many creations, the Bible needn't expound so much on primeval history as it should on the futures and salvation of mankind. The story of Adam and Eve is sketchy at best with much left out. The important thing to remember is that the Bible is about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and its future with man, bringing about his eternal life through the Christ.

Needless curiosities, such as the dinosaurs and unicorns, only hamper the important things of the Bible. Concentrate on the important messages and prophecies. When you cross over and through the veil you will learn all you want to know about the dinosaurs.

The word "dinosaur" was only coined in 1842 by Richard Owen, so of course you would never find this word in the Bible. It would be highly suspicious if such a word exists! Having said that, the Bible mentions that there are monsters of the deep, and talked about Behemoths and Leviathans. And not forgetting the word "dragons" too. In fact, the word "unicorn" may well refer to a horned dinosaur like the Triceratops!

The Bible is not a science book. It is the Word of God to mankind. It tells us about the fall and the redemptive grace of God through Jesus Christ, His Son. There is a verse or two in the book of Job that describes a great beast like a dinosaur. Sorry, I am not a walking bible so I do not remember the exactly verse.

Because Steven Spielberg hadn't filmed Jurrasic Park yet. They didn't mention The Cat In The Hat either! Holy crap! They lived in a frickin desert millions of years after the dinosaurs had gone extinct. Where in the name of God would they have seen dinosaurs to write about them? Your mom is calling you, time for beddie-bye.

It does mention a behemonth that lived in the jung with the tail like a cedar, It also says that angels had there way with humans to make giants. So you make the call on that one.

Creationist will also argue that they have 3 known cave paintings which show humans and dinosaurs living together, but there are also 15 known cave paintings showing flying disc. Again you make the call.
