I've always wanted a wedding by the beach, so, maybe I'm not the best person to answer... but, I'm partial for the beach idea. Either way, do what YOU want, its your wedding!!

Best way to do it is combine them - a garden at the beach..like if you did a destination wedding to Jamaica or something and got married at the resort, you could do it in one of the resort's gardens, but be right there at the beach. If you are on the actual beach, you've got sand, direct sunlight with no shade, sometimes wind, etc.

Just from what I hear beach weddings are bad luck, but its just a saying. I think a garden wedding would be nice(depending what kind of garden it is).

I say go with the wedding in a garden, because the beach tends to have to much distraction. The water tends to make to much noise, which the guest wont be able to hear much and the camera man won't be able to either. And if the weather is not right, it tends to be a little colder when the wind is blowing around water.

I've gone to both and the biggest draw back of a beach wedding is you couldn't hear the ceremony not to mention the wind, but it was extremely beautiful. Garden ceremonies tend to have mosquito's, but you tend to spend less on flowers. They are both great choices and every place is going to have good and bad. Close your eyes picture the perfect wedding and you'll have your answer.

Do you own your own home? Rather than spend money on a lavish wedding use the money as down-payment on a piece of property. One thing for certain you will always need a roof over your head. As a matter of fact have the wedding in the new home you buy. Beachfront property or beautiful garden in your yard?? Its your dime waste it or invest it. :)
Justice of the peace is cheaper and quick :)

I say a beach wedding...but then again, I'm partial to that. That's where I am getting married at the end of the year. Sun, sand, surf and a killer sunset.
