Due to rumors that there is a world shortage, people have started hoarding packs of razors. By the time I reached the supermarket, there were no packs left. However, the two people who checked out ahead of me had bought 3 packs and 5 packs respectively and they offered to share them with me so that we each took home the same number of razors. I paid them $8.

How did they divide the $8?

$1 and $7 respectively. if we say they were 3-packs that would make a total of 3 X 3 + 3 X 5 =24 razors
you each got 8
for your 8 razors you gave them $1 each
the first perdon gave you one leaving himself 8 and took $1 for it
the second person gave you 7 razors @ $1 each leaving him/her with 8 razors
and you have 8

We would need to know the number of razors in a pack to properly answer this question.

There must be an integral multiple of three razors in each pack. I think IAMEVEREADY should get the 10 points.
