Some people think that war is a fundamental result of human nature, and that it will invariably result whenever two or more humans are in the same area.

If there's a way to solve it, it won't be through a democratic system. It won't be through a communist system either, or an anarchist, despotic, monarchal, or oligarchical system. It will result from a fundamental change in the way that we as humans see the world. Either it will be religion, or perhaps some world event affecting all of humanity, and for all eternity. Maybe as we take our first steps outside our solar system, we will all finally realize how small and insignificant we really are, and how quickly and easily we could all be destroyed.

Do you really think that would end all war. Tell you what, try it on a small scale and report back. Take a group of your enlightened liberal hippy friends with their educations and their strong sense of moral justice. Lock them into a building for a week straight and see if there is ever an argument that lasts for more than one day. If one does last for more than a day then obviously there is a flaw in your logic.
