I hate the smell of smoke, it makes my head pound and makes me very nauseas. My mom's boyfriend smokes alot and he smokes parts of it and leaves them in the ashtray for later (he doesn't put them out either the just smoke away) and I can smell it upstairs in my room no matter how much I spray, or how many candles i burn it doesn't help.

I feel your pain. Not only is having to smell the smoke irritating, but it is also endangering your health. Isn't there some way that you can let your mom know that the smoke is bothering you, please try to talk to her about it and i hope it stops. Good luck.

Yes. I went through this when I was young. My mom would leave the butt burning in the tray after a couple puffs Also, she would flick ashes out the window when driving and if we had the back window down and had our heads outside the window, the ashes would burn the eyes.
Nothing worse than getting dressed and perfumed only to end up smelling like a stinky cigarette.
Proud to say my mom quit when she was 40. Yeah

I feel bad for you. Smokers may have rights but when their rights are infringing upon your rights............. (how else can I say this?) That is not right. You have a right to not have to smell smoke which could give you lung cancer. It is your right to take care of your lungs. Although on the other hand since it is in your own home I don't know what you can possibly do besides shutting your bedroom door and rolling up a blanket and putting it across the bottom. (and burn more candles) So I guess I will just feel bad for you. Sorry :-(

Sorry there isn't much you can do about the smoking in the house if your mother allows it, but you shouldn't have to sit in the backseat of a car and feel his ashes all over you. Are you old enough that you can avoid going with them? That is what I'd do as often as possible.

Aww that really sucks. I hate inconsiderate ppl. I dont know how someone can smoke in their own home. And I am a (occasional) smoker! Gross. Makes the house so trashy.

That's really inconsiderate of him. Why doesn't your mom say something to him about it? Also have you tried Ozium (sp?) odor neutralizing spray? It seems to work a little better than most.

Try to get them to smoke outside.
Try to get an air cleaner.
No reason you should have to suffer like that!

He should smoke outside or use the smokeless ashtray.
Go to the doctor and get a letter that you are allergic to smoke.
Give it to your Mom or have your Mom take you to the Doctor.
If you are a minor that is child endangerment.
