There is sliding mechanical friction which comprises two types- static and dynamic. There is rolling mechanical friction which also comprises static and dynamic.

Static friction force resists the initial beginning of movement and is higher than dynamic friction force for the two given materials and the normal loads. All dynamic friction produces heat.

There is fluid friction which is sliding and is measured as viscosity. Dynamic fluid friction produces heat.

Electrical resistance could be considered a form of friction.
The static type is zero at zero amperage . The "dynamic" type produces heat.
