each time I dye it I never can get the color I want....instead of going lighter my hair gets bronzey and even more red. My hair is naturely dark brown and when I started coloring it turned redish and now Im haveing a hard time getting into a new color.

What's most important is to look for a color that has the word "ash" in it's name. For example, you might want "Medium Ash Blonde". Essentially, this is a greenish tint, which is intended to counteract reds, and to keep from getting "brassy".

The strength of the developer has nothing to do with it. However, I might suggest that you shop for your dye and developer at the beauty supply store. They can help you to select a developer that's made for pulling color out, as opposed to adding color to the hair.

Try a light blonde, if that dont work. My friend has dark chestnut brown hair and every time she went to dye her hair it ended up orange or red. So try a light blonde. If that doesnt work go to a hair salon and ask them for some tips. Good Luck!

when u go from brown to blonde- it kinda passes red- so u have to use a light blonde color, on brown hair to make it dark blonde- when u take it out it is going to turn out red- thats becuz , u havnt gotten to blonde yet- so u have to leave it in longer prob like a half hr. longer than u have - it will look blonde not red.

- or go to a solon and get it done-they have sronger dyes that will work better. it's expencive but worth it!!!! good luck!!!

go to a salon. never use store brands to lift your hair (like to blonde) the store brands do not have a strong enough developer (peroxide) in it to lighten. that is why you have a problem with your hair turning out bronzey. Hope that answers your question

You need to go to a salon.

They have stronger dyes than you can get in the shops.

Good luck
