I would not suggest any Christian attending a place where secular music is being played or alchol is consumed ecspecially if you are a new believer. In the Bible it says we should keep away from the apperance of all evil. For example how would you feel if you where a Youth Leader for younger children and they happened to see you walking in to a club? Would you be ashamed? If not then you need to pray and ask the Lord to bring conviction unto your heart if you are doing something wrong.

I don't really mind being where alcohol is being consumed, but it isn't nearly as much "fun" as it was when I got as wasted as the next guy.
I don't really participate in that not because I feel a condemnation of it but because it is boring to me now. I can't stand the cigarette smoke, my lungs can't take it.
I wonder what message it does give.. am I saying I condone this behavior if I participate?
As far as the dancing? I dance like crazy in my house, but not in public, as I am sure there are one or two ordinances against making a fool of oneself dancing the way I do.
It ain't pretty I tell ya!

One would assume since you put "born again" in quotes - your "target audience" are the Evangelical Christians who make being "born again" so ritualistic.
As a Catholic, who is born again in Christ - regardless of what my Evangelical friends may think of me - I say these types of gatherings are a good place to find those in need of God's Word.
Even if it's to stand by and look for them.
It does take someone very strong in their faith to wander in and be the "odd man out." The one not dressed like a hoochie. The one NOT getting obliterated on alcohol and drugs. The one not acting out sex on the dance floor.
And yet, the one still having fun.
In his day Jesus was condemned by those who felt themselves "holier than thou" - because he hung out with those deemed to be of least consequence. Tax collectors and prostitutes. Who was in more need of salvation? Who needed to feel God's loving grace more?

it sounds like you know this answer already. Yet God tells us from Genesis to Revelation that we are not to be like the "Gentiles" or better yet "uncircumsized of heart". Yet we all fall short on these things from time to time, but that's no excuse! We are Ambassadors of Heaven and kings and priests unto The Father and our place is with Him, not reveling in drunken parties or sharing in their Godless lifestyles. Remember we are Christians because we owe Him EVERYTHING, so we must be ever vigilant to give up our desires and wants, and replace them with His! Peace be with you!

the be conscious "born back" does no longer exist interior the manuscripts of God's be conscious. The Greek be conscious for back is 'anothen', and potential "from above". we are to be born from above into the water sack (womb) no longer like the fallen angels of Genesis 6 who left heaven and fell to earth and seduced woman somewhat than being born to her.

this question sounds geared for the "no" answer. the atmospere described is absolutely treacherous to the youthful christian.
unless its for adults who are required to attend that business get together, or its a family reunion where not everyone is saved.. and can bridle themselves appropriately.

Short answer! NO!
Jesus did perform miracles to show his fathers power.
He went where the bad were to be found also to show mercy.
He proved his points to scoffers, and never lost an argument.
In all cases he backed his ridiculers down.

if the beat is sexual or the words are bad...then abstain from that...
if the music is neutral and the words are ok....then there is no harm
i like folk dancing... nothing wrong with it....
as far as the alcohol, it is the general atmosphere that has to be evaluated.

I'm an atheist, but I've read the bible - I seem to remember Jesus drank and hung out with prostitutes. So actually, the people at the club are MORE like Jesus than those shunning them in his name - pretty funny, huh?
