I've seen brides do both. Any other tips about walking down the aisle other than not tripping?

I think that whatever we tell you right now won't really matter. You are going to be thinking about so many things before those doors open that when they do finally open I think that your eyes are going to focus on whatever feels natural, which most probably will be HIM. You might glance around at a couple of guests and your mom of course and maybe even your bridal party but I think that for the most part you will be focused on your groom. But also some brides don't focus on their grooms because that's what makes the tears start flowing. So I don't know. I honestly just think that it will happen exactly the way it's supposed to happen. Naturally and without thought! But I know that I am not going to take my eyes off of my groom because I just don't want to look at anybody else. I know that he will put the biggest smile on my face;) Congratulations and Best of Luck!

A bride should be looking straight ahead at her husband to be. The guest usually look at her walking down the aisle. It's kind of inappropriate to pay attention to your guest during the wedding. There will be enough smiles at the wedding reception.

When the doors first open, stand there for a few seconds and look at the guests, smile a little (ya know, the no teeth kind), and nod, so you're at least acknowledging that you're happy they're there; but once you start walking.. look up at your groom...and give him the biggest smile you can...he's the reason you're there.

As others have said you can look more at the guests on way out.

That's how I'm gonna do it.

I don't think you really have to think about this. But anyway, do both. Take a look at your guests while walking down the aisle, smiling of course. Then when your near the altar, look at the groom in his eyes and make him think you're saying "i love you".

Good Luck!
Congratulations!

I couldn't take my eyes of my husband. He looked so handsome and was glowing and looking at me as well. If you asked us what the pastor said during it, we couldn't tell you because we were looking into each other's eyes the entire time. We were just swept away in the moment.

We were both attentive long enough to do what we needed to do at each point during the ceremony. Otherwise we were lost in each other. Everyone told us they were absolutley amazed at how in love we were. They said, they never saw two people so entranced with each other

I think there could have been fireworks, and a three ring circus and I wouldn't have noticed a thing aside from my husband. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Besides, there was plenty of time to pay attention to others at the end of the ceremony when they congratulated us.

My thoughts are, my first look will be to my husband to be. I will also look and smile at the guests as my dad and I walk down the aisle and I will be looking at my hubby to be as well.

Then again, I say that now, but when the moment comes who knows what I'll do! :)

Both, the bride can look down the aisle mostly, but look a little side to side and smile.
