Read John 8 but especially verse 45-47
This is Jesus speaking " But because I speak the truth, you do not believe
"Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me?

I ask the same question - Why do people not believe the teachings of Christ and what is it that is so terrible in his teachings that make people turn away?
" He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God."

Is this not true today so how can one not believe when Jesus spoke this so very long ago and yet it is true even today. Is this not proof that what he said so long ago is true? He said many things that are true of today so how can it be that if it were said so long ago that it is not believed today?

only the sheep of the pasture know the voice of the TRUE SHEPHERD...Jesus mentioned the parable of the ten virgins...the invitation to the wedding...invitation is given but many would reject..more follow the road to the wide gate which leads to death...tares and wheat are allowed to grow together until the day of harvest...you and i are to spread the good news...that is our job... the Holy Spirit ( John 16:14 ) does the inspiring and convicting...it is sad to see so many unbelivewrs but Jesus had already informed us that unbelivers will be here as in His time...God Bless

This argument can go both ways in that only he is of God and he has wasted his time here. Todays Churches teach that after one believes and may be Babtised that Jesus died for their sin, is a fact, correct? However, after these are accomplished one must fish for others by telling them what they believe is wrong? So how is Jesus so smart if he didn't know that insulting anothers belief would anger them? As it truly does. Perhaps this is why he died, rather than for anybodies sin, because one still has to ask for forgiveness with Prayer. Specifically "the Lords Prayer".

"This is Jesus speaking" -No, it's not. The Bible was written by people not by a god. How can YOU be sure everything in it is true? Just because something is from many years ago and is written down doesn't mean it's true or right. I think it's quite the opposite... The Bible was written during times in which society was uncivilized. Remember that!

Because in accepting that there is a God, the bible & all that is in it is true means that the life choices made by humans are accountable before a higher being, adn that in itsaelf frightens people, more away to. Because they feel they shouldn't have to account as to why they did such & such in their lives. Because they believe regardless of what any one else tells them they are perfect, even if they know that in their heart the aren't. Sad isn't it.
Humans tend to believe the lies before they will acknkwoledge the truth. Regardless of the evidence before them. It's called taking the easy way not the hard way.

something i learned in bible study is for 8 of the proficies that coame to pass with jesus would have had the odds of i in100,000,000,000,000,000, and he had 300 of them. those are some pretty interesting odds huh. sorry maybe that didn't pertain but i liked that. people turn their backs on god because if they have to face him then that means that they have to admit their sins and they would have to stop and in a world with so much sin in it people want to pretend that they can do what ever they want and they can just say that there is no god. these same people will however be praying when there is something really bad going on in their lives. people never truly don't be;ieve in god they just don't want to own up to their sins i think. and maybe that is just me

I follow Jesus' teachings, but I do not think he is the only son of God. Am I a bad person?

OK, I am not sure I understand this, but..
By your logic, all religions are valid, because there are people who believe them too...
Many things jesus said predate him, and were not new to humanity when he said them, those still hold true... the ones he added are only believed by christians...

They are words. In a book. Written by men. You're saying we're supposed to believe it because it's written in a book? Ok - then I am officially starting the Encyclopedia Brown Religion. There's lots of material, all in book form. Since it's in a book, it must be "The Truth", right?

Because they were not "unique." Prophesies of good and bad events have been repeated so often throughout history that many do not take them serious. As for teaching and many not hearing the wisdom of his words, you will not like my answer. This "species" is NOT of the God of "heaven" but of the 'fallen one" many refer to as "satan." Nature alone PROVES it, and the words of Jesus PROVE it. Mankind can not accept it because it has always deluded itself to wish to stand as the apostles John and James, as more important than others in his kingdom. To the father in heaven we are ALL "equal" and none stands above another in his heart. As creatures created by the devil as "hosts" for his own, God in heaven came down to offer us grace. Grace to EARN our way to heaven by doing all he taught. The doctrines of the bible are "manufactured" ones as the Roman and Grecian empires and Jewish influence instill their own aspects into the truth. It is why the ancient manuscripts can only be found in greek and hebrew. The APOSTLES or JESUS spoke "aramaic." To accept the bible for all that is within it without finding out "where" these words came from is how the deceivers perceive them to be accepted. At face value and they have, but are mostly FALSE, for you see Jesus was not the son of the Jewish God but of the Egyptian god Amen foretold in the prophesy of Nu. Why do you think he was "crucified" right after performing the Osirian rite of passage called the flesh and blood sacrifice where the "king" lays down his life for his own.........He could not be the decendant of a murderous race of kings, as he often disliked being referred to as the son of David. Jesus was the SON of God in heaven "genetically" and to call him the son of one who murdered "thousands" BLASPHEMES who he was......

In his teachings, nothing. but if you want to be a true christian. do this , find the oldest bible you can. one with the apocrypha. copy only jesus words, and live your life SOLELY by them and nothing else. never listen to a pastor or priest, for by the new testament they are evil men.
