Because athiests, with all their faults (not getting into that here) have realized that brick buildings with fancy windows, ugly carpeting and elaborate windows make sucky places to meet together. Seriously. Consider yourself lucky. I'm a Christian, and I think most churches are absolutely hideous, and discourage open, free fellowship. Who ever thought that pews were a good idea?

Haha. The only atheist church I've ever heard of was in Texas and the only reason they built it was to prove a point to the government.

You're in an Atheist church right now, bozo. Whenever a person is not preying or practicing their religion, that person is momentarily an Atheist. It's a perfectly natural state.

Isn't that an oxymoron, an atheist church? Atheism isn't even a religion.

Maybe you can just go to a poetry reading instead?

Go out on Sundays while mass is going on. Those out and about should be mostly atheists.

Or go to church, and look for the first ones running out after it's out, they're probably running from something.

Try your local freethinker meetings, instead. That's where the atheists here hang out.
