Is tivodan1116 naive or just putting on a show of being naive about our great constitution?

Could any free nation's compnies or businesses legally flout a persons rights and freedoms for long just because they do not like those people?

In nations that teach and believe in justice for ALL?

Naive or not tivodan1116 opened up a door for us to talk about our constitution with our freedom of speech on Yahoo Answers true? I will after posting this click on his name and see his thinking on other things. I just looked and belive he might be in law but not sure. Once posted I will go back.

See what he said below at website:

I wouldn't hold my breath if i were you... Even if you wait 10 years, law enforcement is a very popular field right now and why would they hire someone with a criminal record when there are tons of qualified applicants who do not have one? I'd find a backup career path if I were you.

Yes TattMan Blacks below, I seem to miss words and letters at my best not to.
I might be the naive one but like you said TattMan the backlash would likely bankrupt the company and would be a PR nightmare. And like you said, "But, other than financial repercussions, there is nothing illegal about discrimination in the private sector." If that be true, what would people do to one another if they did not like a person or persons and there were no financial repercussions? I see you put down you are an Atheist, would not you hope people like one another beyond just the income they can get from one another? If you and others can see what I mean! If that was the only reason people were doing business with others, they did not like, how would they treat them without that going for them? What I am getting at is (I am setting here trying to find the right simple words needed to say what I mean) a loving godly law of treating one another right beyond love of money. (Matt. 7:12 Golden Rule)NEXT

What the ACLU said in 1934! "No amount of persecution impairs the zeal with which Jehovah’s Witnesses serve their faith. Persecution of them is not only futile but a reflection upon all those who tolerate it. The degree to which our community accords Jehovah’s Witnesses their rights measures our own loyalty to the ideals we profess. Protection of their freedom of speech and conscience is the protection of our own, regardless of whatever attitude we may take to their often annoying public conduct." Trying to say if people take the law into their own hands, like they did back at that time, be it Jehovah's Witnesses or the Black race or others, the backlash will come back on ALL free people and beyond. So the humane just constitution of any nation and the godly golden rule working together would put mankind as near to having PEACE AND SECURITY! Atheist are likely that because they do not see religious people living up to the rule above. People can make a choice to live by that rule!

Actually, this being a privately owned and operated site, Yahoo can do anything with it they want. They can shut the whole thing down if they wish.

I assume you meant Blacks and JW's in your question. But, yes, they could cancel those people's accounts for that reason, and that reason only. It would be a PR nightmare, and the backlash would likely bankrupt the company, but that is Yahoo's right as a private entity.

What many forget is that the Constitution protects us from the government infringing on our rights. It says nothing about what private citizens or companies do.

The same holds true for employment. There is a big misconception that it is illegal for business to discriminate based on race, sex, religion, etc. This is not true. A private company can hire/fire anyone they want. If they do discriminate based on what I listed, then, they can't advertise as an Equal Opportunity Employer. Without that, they do not qualify for any sort of tax abatements, business grants, etc. But, other than financial repercussions, there is nothing illegal about discrimination in the private sector.

I doubt it would truly be considered constittional or fair but considering Y!A is by know means a government regulated outlet, and there are all sorts of forums who choose to be restricted to/against one group or another I doubt any realy problem would be had. I personally would be OK with not being able to give a Witness prospective on things, as long as they also banned all questions correlating to our beliefs. As long as people want to know our feelings on things I plan to answer.
