the parasite can take many different forms. There are plants look exactly like insicts and animals, that is parasitic yet not that the animal suffers.
Others take the form of husbands, and boyfriends
The oak apple is a parasite of the oak tree.
The parasite needs 'the other' to leech off, cant exist on its own.

I wouldn't say parasites kill the host after benefitting from it! Headlice are parasites. They don't kill you. Fleas on pets don't kill the pet. The relationship is symbiotic. A parasite that kills is not effective as it needs a host to survive! Parasites that kill their hosts are not effective survivors.
