I'm guessing that most of us have reported someone at least once by now. So, (aside from things like cloning other users or other obvious harassment) what sorts of things are you more likely to report someone for?
Swearing (dodging the profanity filter by modifying words so they don't get filtered out and turned to stars) ?
Point Gaming "I don't know...2 points!" (If you don't know...why did you answer the damned question?)
Blasphemy (Anyone who says something you consider not appropriate for your religion)?
Posts that have such poor language usage that they're nearly unreadable? "y r u made ate teh peeps?"
Really long answers that are obviously cut and pasted ?
People who post questions that are nothing but a rant...or proselytizing?
Generally trolling and muck raking?
Or something else that gets in your craw? Please specify.
Thanks to anyone who answers!

Wow. That was longer than I thought it'd be.
Sorry about that.

"Wright S…" I never said I reported them for those things. Those are just some things that annoy me...or that I've been reported for. Yes, I've been reported for Blasphemy, and Chatting, but mostly just for annoying people, I think.

I think I reported someone. I don't know if I did it right or not. The guy was talking pure filth about Jesus. I wont repeat it but it was not appropriate for this site.
How do you know if your report goes through?

I've actually never reported someone on here, though I HAVE given my share of "thumbs down" if they were being intolerant of other views.
I was in the military, profanity doesn't bother me, though I don't use it much. I don't answer unless I have a constructive answer, though I CAN be sarcastic at times. I ignore really long answers (don't even read them unless it's REALLY interesting and provides no link at the bottom).
I like to think I'm pretty tolerant of most questions/answers, though if I feel that the assumption is wrong, I will try and give my own opinion. Of course, this is America, and freedom of speech means just that - I don't have to like it or agree with it so long as it's not forced on me. I can always close my tab if I get too hot-headed.

I usually try to ignore people that are just to ignorant to know any better. The ones that use their religion to justify all kinds of hatred towards others are really pathetic. I will report racism and any other type of ism. I notice a lot of homophobic comments and I do report that as well. I think everyone should be able to live their lives free from judgment and harassment.

I will report someone if they something really offensive to everyone or some one asking for help. The one I reported was cussing someone out in the Cats section because they did not take the cat to the vet again. This was a very hate-full post aimed at the person asking the question.

Hehehe. I am guilty of one of those things--I modify words with symbols. I don't like the stars thing.
The rest of us doesn't get to me. I only report when, as you said, it's clearly harassment, or it's obvious that the person's agenda is to spread bigotry. I mean if they're saying something like, "Wouldn't the world be better if all [fill in the blanks] were dead?" It happens sometimes here and in "General Society and Culture"; it happens a lot in LGBT. And it doesn't seem to stop.

I only reported one time. I figure if I don't like what's going on....I don't have to look at/read it. The one time I reported was when I clicked on a link provided (that seemed to be part of the question) and it sent me to one of those sites that flashes and screams out, "I'm looking at gay porn!" and is impossible to close (you know, the browser shakes all over the monitor, so you can't click on the x.) I was on a computer around others and was pretty ticked when I clicked the link.

I have only reported trolls and swearing in sections where there might be kids (there really shouldn't be children here) and potentially harmful insults in a place like pregnancy where it might matter. I won't report someone for having an opinion, I won't even report someone for insults because this is a section where emotions run high.

I have only reported 1 person the entire time I've been here. And the only reason I did it was because of the sexually explicit XXX avatar the person was using. It was disgusting, inappropriate, and offensive ( I'm not easily offended). On the flipside, I've been reported numerous times for asking for pagan prayers, or answering questions that suggest I'm pro-Satan or Lucifer (so basically being reported for not being Christian).

I've reported probably 95% for racism, a few others for things like spamming. Even though I'm pretty regular at R&S, I haven't reported anyone for being pro/anti any religion.

The only thing I report for is obvious racism or hate language. I don't mean things like "gays are going to hell" but really ugly stuff. I have no tolerance for that type of thing.
