Jesus is GOD. In a Biblical sense

2007-04-03 11:43:38 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 3

Jesus claimed to be the Son of God and the Messiah. Because we read back our understanding of the Trinity and the Jewish Messiah into his claims, we understand this to mean that he is part of the Triune Godhead.

However, this is a misinterpretation. The Jewish Messiah was a political figure, a revolutionary against the Roman Empire, nothing more. The Son of God indicated a sense that God is one's Father, much as Christians today think of God as their Father.

The closest Jesus ever came to claiming divinity was when he stated in the Gospel of John (the last and most unreliable gospel) that before Abraham was, "I AM." However, the "I AM" here in the Greek text is different than the "I AM" that Yahweh spoke to Moses in the Greek Old Testament. Paul was the first one who came along claiming that Jesus meant by all this that he was God.

So you decide...is Jesus a false idol, or was Paul right?

Before Creation was the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are one God. To worship other than God is to worship a false God or an Idol. Jesus is a part of the whole of God and he is to be worshiped as a part of The completeness of God. Not to know who the Son is means you do not know God as Jesus himself taught to know the Father was to know the Son. The only way to the Father is through the Son who paid the price of sin for all who accept the atonement. The obvious answer to your question is no Jesus is The Holy only begotten Son of God and is not any type of idol.

The "Jesus" of the bible is a "manufactured" entity, thus a false idol as you state. The "real" Jesus WASN'T. What is in every bible came about at the council at Nicea where the Roman Catholic Church "chose" what they found ACCEPTABLE for people to read. As thus,, "manmade" doctrines called "christian." To justify what I just said, why is it all ancient script found today is written in greek and hebrew? All the apostles AND Jesus spoke "aramaic." Don't you think all their works should be in their own language? Roman and Greeks "deceived" many into thinking the Jesus of their "bible" is the true Jesus of which is not the son of god in heaven at all.

I would say yes, since there is a separation in the trinity. If God is "one" then any deviation would be considered a false idol.

I do not think so. mother Mary is, because she was just the vessel to bring Jesus into the world. she was a sinner like all other humans. Jesus was God in flesh. They are one in the same.
