My hubby insists that strong tasting coffee has MORE caffeine in it. Is that true?

He also thinks coffee beans come un-caffeinated and the companies add the caffeine. Is that true?

Also do stronger tasting (Columbian ~VS~ Breakfast Blend) coffee's have more caffeine in them than the regular coffee's?

Do stronger coffee's make your stomache hurt more than regular ones? Are the acidity levels higher in stronger blends ~VS~ normal ones?

Thanks everyone!

Caffiene burns off during the roasting process, so darker coffees have less caffiene than lighter ones. Lighter coffees also have higher acid content for the same reason.

I don't know about strong coffee having more caffeine, but I do know that it is naturally present in coffee beans. Companies have to treat the bean in order to get the caffeine out. Also, there are still small amounts of caffeine in it even though technically they can label it decaf. A quality bean will not upset your stomach.

stronger tasting ones don't have more caffeine, it's just how the beans are roasted, and no they don't come un-caffeinated. coffee beans are coffee beans. the flavor depends on both where they are harvested from, and how they are processed and roasted. It would all depend on the person if you're stomach was hurting, but if it did, maybe you should cut back on your coffee intake.

Lighter roasts have more caffeine than darker roasts.
Colombian has more, depending on the roast.
Most coffees have the same amounts of acid, but you can buy some low-acid coffee, but it's not that good!
