Start training now. Maybe start with 10 mile trips for the first week or two, then bump it up to 20-30, and if possible maybe a half century or more. Don't forget to bring water, a flat kit, lots of food bars with calories!

London to Brighton - 50 miles. Start now at 15 miles, twice per week. Do the occasional 30 miles (Rutland is 27.5 with peninsular) at the weekend and you will be fine. Note: Take a cammel back and shove Go into it. Hydration and Electrolights are a big issue.
