You'd better pray over this decision Catholics have bad track records in their priest hood do research find out who is serving the true God. the bible says there is one truth and only one god so it is a big decision make it carefully.

I would just tell them, you want to be baptized Catholic.
Perhaps, if they are not aware of your keen interest in the Faith, you can slowly let on over a period of time, randomly bringing it up in a conversation (without being too contrived), let your parents see you reading books about Catholicism (I recommend the Catechism or Bible). It won't take much for them to figure out you have developed an interest in Catholicism.
Why should they be anything less than enthused? Baptism, Holy Communion, Confirmation. Baptism opens the door the a lot of possibilities in the Church.

Contact your nearest Catholic church and ask about their R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program. Not every church has such a program. Smaller parishes sometimes collaborate with larger ones.
Meanwhile, read up on the Faith of the Apostles all you can. Find reputable books and websites. Here's a good place to start: www.catholicanswers.com. God bless!

If you plan on becoming Catholic....there are certain steps that must be taken in order to do that. You would have to go through Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). You can go to your local Catholic Church and they should be able to tell you more about this program. God bless you as you contemplate your decision.

You have to take classes. I know that much. So you might want to contact your local Catholic church and see what's required.

Ask, and then go to your local church and talk to the priest or a deacon and they'll get you going in the direction you want to go in.

Go to a brains surgeon and ask him to cut into your skull and take out half of your brain. That should do the trick.
