Does atheism require faith? If so, in what?

Atheism is the belief that there is no higher being.

And really, I hate when people are like, "OMG THERE IS A GOD ATHEISTS ARE SO WRONG!!!" because I think you should be able to believe whatever you want and not act all self-righteous, like you're the most correct person on the entire world just because someone disagrees with your religious standpoint.

I think the exciting thing is you don't need faith. Except for the fact that it gives you this benevolent God-figure to look after you, I think faith is kind of lame. Where is the excitement of discovery, and asking questions, if you can just make assumptions and live with them? When you're an atheist, you get to question EVERYthing. Much more interesting, I think.

Atheists generally require evidence, which is the opposite of faith. There is a tremendous amount of evidence for the process of evolution, and zero evidence that Jesus was anything more than just a man (even that is in doubt).

Atheism does not require faith. It requires logic and reasoning.

If "faith" is to believe in something without using the intellect, no one needs more faith than an atheist.

Added later:
For those that defines "faith" as "belief without evidence", I have a question.
Is possible to "believe without evidence" using the intellect?
The answer is obviously "no". The intellect demands evidences. Therefore "belief without using the intellect" includes "belief without evidence".
By the way, "faith" is also "belief against all evidence"

Nope, we just look at the bible realize it's BS.
We look at all the religions in the world & realize they're all made up.

The only requirement to be an Atheist is not to believe in the existence of any deities.
You don't even have to know any science (evolution).

Atheism is defined as a lack of belief in gods.
Faith is defined as belief without evidence.

So obviously atheism does not require faith.

Faith in yourself. It is different from faith n diety because you only have yourself to be held accoutnable when things don't go your way.

Faith that Satan didn't deposit those dinosaur bones.

Faith that large-scale Matrix-style international conspiracies are hard to hold together; faith that the world is more or less how it seems.

Faith that reason, logic, and observation are enough to understand the world.
