Maybe your barber is going to use the hair in a ritual. One of the people that worked for my mother took my mom's hair, put (finger)nails in the hair and buried it in several places in our garden... Maybe he's a secret admirer or like the guy on Charlie's Angels that took "Dylan's" hair and couldn't stop smelling it. Is he bald? Maybe he's going to use it to make a wig, which he plans on wearing later on.

Well it depends on which service you recieved. If you cut you hair then colored it, he probably needed to save a lock of your original or after hair color for his client records. Don't worry your barber is not a voodoo man.

Are you approaching middle-age? Sounds like future color match to cover the anticipated greylocks. Maybe he keeps a file for his regular customers....would not attach anything sinister to it if I were in your chair.
