Just tell him that you dont want to be with him straight out like that, and tell him that your just not ready to be involved with anyone, you want to be alone for a while. Hes an ex for a reason obviously, just tell him we aint together anymore, and honestly I dont want us to get back together. I am happy with how things are. You dont have to bring up the boyfriend just straight out tell him your not into hooking back up with him, and when he asks why tell him your happy being single, and want to keep it that way, if he dont leave it at that then just walk away, and not talk to him anymore. Or tell him how things were never right between the both of you, and you dont think you should be more then friends, you make better friends.
