Yes, it's called fraud.

You betcha! That's fraud. Fines. Jail time. Community service. Probation. You can potentially get the whole works. I don't recommend it. Most hospitals will work with you as much as possible to help you manage the bills. Talk to them about it.

I would say especially so if you are using government healthcare.
