How does the transfiguration still affect our lives today and/or how does it relate to today. Also what would be a good film (clip) to model the transfiguration.

The transfiguration seems to allude to Exodus 34:29. In the same way that Moses' face shone after his encounter with God, so too Jesus' face shown after his encounter with God. I think this event draws attention to the fact that Jesus is a prophet like Moses. In addition, Jesus is portrayed as talking to Moses and Elijah. These would have been amongst the most highly respected figures in all of Judaism. And so the fact that God speaks from Heaven and affirms his pleasure with Jesus establishes Jesus as one whose authority and position exceed that of Elijah and Moses.
This continues to be relevant to us today. In the same way that Mark depicts Jesus to his audience as one whose authority is approved by the God of the Old Testament, so too we today ought to recognize Jesus' authority as approved by the God of the Scriptures and order our lives accordingly.

You see people transformed from illness, physical and mental. That is a form of transfiguration.
But I, I like to watch the cicada.
It lies in the ground, an ugly bug, for years. Then it comes out and slowly, with a lot of struggle it crawls out of that ugly bug body, and puffs out its silky lime green wings and it flies!!
I have seen it happen many times and it's quite a transfiguration.
