To me it sounds like a bunch of sad people trying to buy their way into whatever they view as Heaven or the afterlife.
Everyone knows it was started by a man who confessed the best way to make himself rich and famous was to create his own religion and yet these daft celebs (and non-celebs) fall for it and act like he had some kind of divine way of life and knew what he was talking about (as opposed to a guy just trying to make some money).
I have no time for people that easily led and brainwashed. To me it's all just very sad. At least proper religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) have some place in history and are historically based. Others such as Hinduism, Buddism and Sikhism (sp?) to me just promote a really good way of life so I won't slag those (although I can't really catargorise them as religions in the way I do the primary three).
Scientologists are just weird. They do weird things, behave weirdly and pay money for the privilage of looking like a bunch of weirdos. I don't get it.

If the word "scientology" derives from "science" and "theology", I don't understand how it can be classed as a religion, as the whole thing about religion is that people believe in some god or other, as no-one can prove they exist, people have to have faith; but surely the scientific part at least can be proven??? So not really a religion in my mind, but that's just my OPINION.

To be honest the first thoughts that come to mind when thinking about Scientology are Tom Cruise so the religion in my mind SOUNDS ridiculous (not is ridiculous) because Tom Cruise is ridiculous...

Some sensible advice (although very derivative). Isn't really a religion though.

A very sad end to L.Ron Hubbard's work. He stated himself it was never to be a religion.

Science fiction bollocks somehow made into a religion. Like those people who think they're Jedi.
