I live in texas, and I was wondering what steps i have to take to get my license?

and i havent gotten my permit yet and im turning 16 in a week, so would i be able to get it next week or would i have to do something else?

I don't know about Texas, but in California you must

1) Be 16..
2) Pass the written permit exam
3) Have drivers ed/instruction or reach 18
4) Take and pass the actual driving test

BUT.. having said that each state varies.. the easy answer is to look up your local DMV in the phone book and call them for the answer. (Or hunt them down online)
