Thank you for your answers. Does anyone know where I could find a breakdown of how much of each dollar I spend on the car goes to workers, sales people, stockholders, etc ...

The average GM,Ford or Chrysler vehicle is 78% US and Canadian while the average import is 54%.Even though the imports do build in the US they employe less than Chrysler does alone.If you figure all indirect employees GM,Ford and Chrysler employe over 4.5 million while all imports employe less than 1 million.So I would say a GM,Ford or Chrysler would be better for the economy,but check the vehicle sticker as it will show where the vehicle was built.I just purchased a Dodge Ram built in Warren,Mich and it was 80% US/Candian parts.

If otherwise equal, buy the car made in the USA. That way, American workers earn their living making a good quality product.
The other way, the profits go to the fat cats who run GM, and their stockholders.
I'm usually a defender of the fat cats and capitalism, but in this instance, I'd rather the average Joe Factoryworker got the money.

Buy a Ford thats made in the U.S. No Honda or Toyota, even though it's made here, it's profits go back to Japan. Although Chevy is made in Mexico, the profits still come to the U.S.

buy the honda... you get a high quality car... and is made by American workers...
thus stimulates our economy...
buying a Chevy... made in mexico... helps the global economy..... but was probably made there after an american factory closed due to high labor costs here......
and cheap labor there.....
You will never have any problems with your honda... is well built.. and reliable....

Personally I would say the Chevy, I just traded in my 2001 Honda Civic LX for a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LT, and let me tell you that Chevy will whoop a Honda ANYDAY! More power! And as for Ford, forget Ford, I work for Ford, Ford's are American pieces of trash.
