You can eat healthily and inexpensively. I don't happen to do either, and spend about $300 per month.
In terms of a cheap diet though:
Get a huge bag of rice, like 50/lb for $6 and you can get the same size bag of potatoes for about the same price.
Get big bags of beans and learn to soak/cook them.
Then get some produce and spices.
You'll save your parents lots of money, lose weight, and be a lot healthier. You could spend under $60 a month.

Healthy food is not expensive! It is unhealthy processed, packaged foods that are expensive. For instance a carrot costs only a few cents, but a candy bar costs a dollar.
Rather than snacking on junk, eat a carrot or an apple or a cucumber and you will be helping yourself and your parents.
I think that $230 is a bit high to be honest.
Find out as much as you can about healthy foods. It is so important if you want a happy and healthy life - and the stupid thing is that once you get used to them healthy foods taste so much better and cost much less. If you change your diet you will realise that junk food actually tastes like junk after a while away from it.

YES! Holy cow. For one person? In a month? I spend (on me) $40 a week on food. That's $160 a month. And you know what? Junk food is REALLY expensive. If you cut out all that crap, not only would you lose weight, but your parents would be rejoicing in their lower food bills.

How humorous... i'm attempting to funds my nutrition spending and that i see this question! i think of my kinfolk of four used to spend approximately 4 hundred.00 a month on nutrition with a splash extra extra in on eating out as quickly as a week. i desperate to diminish back on each and every thing and that i think of we are all the way down to 3 hundred.00 a month. I decrease back on eating out (as quickly as a month) and no candies (late night blizzards, cookies on the keep, etc). I even offered butter at Costco so I easily have extra for much less, i began out using up my bread flour and made my very own bread for 4 days in a row. If we've treats, i cause them to (different than the unusual snigger's bar). and that i do no longer do Starbucks until its a definite adventure, like i'm taking away a chum or some thing. i've got additionally tried to save money through no longer driving as lots, making living house made crafts, shorter showers, etc. once you easily could desire to funds and and could't decrease the charges down, then attempt in different strategies, like nutrition, gasoline, eating out, coffees, treats.... you are able to truly decrease it down once you attempt!

yes, that's alot. Have you tried just exercise by itself? 30 minutes per day at least 5 days per week. Also, don't eat within 3 hours of sleep.
