I don't think men are scared ..it's more like they are intimidated.

yes this is true. guys get very intimidated when they are dating a girl who is too pretty. they don't like when people say "wow how did HE get HER" that line is used all the time in that situation and it doesn't feel good for the guy. it lowers there self esteem.
also a guy is scared that a girl who puts a lot into her looks is snobby high maintenance, or just plain conceded so why bother when you can have the wholesome girl next door who will camp, or watch football or drink a beer with them without her makeup and hair done?

No such thing as too pretty but there is such a thing as carrying yourself in a way that reads you are unapproachable. Many married women, women in long term relationships, etc. carry themselves in this manner regardless of their looks.

I don't think there is such a thing as too pretty, but there definately is such a thing as "Fake!". I think being pretty is a huge turn on. And being fake...not so much.
