Growing up I admit I was pretty greedy, I loved Christmas and birthdays and presents and I really didn't feel I got a nice, good feeling from giving as people would often say they did. But later on I did. I'm not much of a blingbling person anymore -although I do get very attached to the things I have, mostly either 'cause I've got them from someone or have used them for ages... but I don't even know what to ask for Christmas or birthdays anymore. I've got a small apartment, it's full of loads of old, faithful, comfortable items no matter how worn they are and I don't even want new stuff! On the other hand I enjoy it much better now to pick out things for my mom or a friend.
And I like to give books away at random ( http://www.bookcrossing.com ) just for fun, it's cool to surprise a random stranger, many people don't respond but some of the reactions have been really great, it's nice to know I've brightened someone's day with some of these.

I prefer go give. It's better to give and just be thankful if you get anything back. After all, you can't receive unless someone else gives, which means giving must be better (if you get my drift).

I prefer to give. i love shopping for other people and it makes me happier to see someone love what I get them than to get something myself when I could just buy things for myself if I really wanted them.

The man's way has always been to provide, but if you're talking about...eh...physical relations then women are experts, and let them have it. I wouldn't do anything like that. Get a woman who understands...

Like the song says: ("Relax", said the night man.) We are programmed to receive. You can check out any time you like. But you can never leave.

In the end, it turns out to be all about giving. You don't exactly get to take anything with you, you know, except your memories and goodness.
