Genuflect? (bend the knee)
Follow your conscience.
They will understand.

are you talking about paying respects to the body?

because I have been to Catholic wakes where they had the body on display for a final goodbye and we Jews do NOT do that kind of thing

we are to remember the person alive, so when I was at the wake I sat with the family and talked with them but I did not go up to the body

The only major difference I know of in funerals is that Jews do not use embalming, or taxidermy of any kind of the body, and do not display it.. Most of us find such a thing distasteful as well as insulting the the person who's body it is.....

If one is a Kohane, they can't go. If one is not a Kohane, then you say condolence...you can't pray with a statue of J*sus (if anything with J*sus is in the room, you really can't be in there) and cannot enter a church. If it is at a funeral home, that is different. We do not go near the body.
