The only way you can help is thru support. He will have to be willing to change his ways to lose weight, and then actually follow thru.
1. Shop and use healthy alternatives for meals. Cook Healthy.
2. join a gym together, work out together.
3. Make meals for him to bring to work, that way you know they will be healthy ( and you will save some cash).
4. Make sure health and exercise become a part of your healthy "new" life style together.
5. Get educated on health and fitness, you dont need to be a guru but you need to know fact vs fiction,
6. Lastly, stick a speedo on him and say "this is what you are going to look like on our honey moon on the beach...the hundreds of pictures we will share with everyone"...if that doesnt scare him nothing will!!!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

get him to go to www.myhealthabc.net and get some advice from the nutritionist guy there. I got help from them and I lost 40 pounds in four months, plus my energy levels are way better and I am much healthier all round. They are never pushy but just great with you. The products they use are great too and I am sure they can help your fiance. They have stuff to get his metabolism going, its so good having people on your side. Good luck

you may want to consider getting a copy of the Glycemic Food Index and eat accordingly. dieting doesnt really help much, but eating right does wonders for weight loss and correcting metobolic issues

Go exercise together- either at a gym or go for walks/runs together. Sometimes inspiration comes more easily with company.

Don't marry a fixer-upper. Chances of him losing weight are slim (no pun intended). Marry reality, not potential.
You cannot help another person lose weight, or change any of their habits, it must come from them and you can't even influence them properly.
