Can ANYONE prove to me, Islam is a faith of peace?

Please quote some peaceful ahadith and Qu'ran to me where Mohammad and Allah (pecans be upon them) said it was not right to slay unbelievers, where they said women are equal to males, where they said women shall not be abused (beaten), and where they said non-believers don't have to pay dhimmi tax?

Can you prove Allah did not say, "Slay the unbelievers where ye find them."

1.This is question rife for cherrypicking, and there is a good and a bad side to the koran (as in many other scriptures) the real problem is:
That islam has not grown out of the literal phase, there are too many muslims taking and acting literally on every verse word by word, christianity and judaism grew out of that a long time ago, actually during the age of enlightenment 300 years ago.
yes there are some sects (mainly in christianity) out there that are loopy to say the least, but they have no influence whatsoever in society.
some people claim so, (especially those living out side the US who clearly dont know s*it from shinoli about the US, in the case of the christians).

2. As you may already have noticed muslims are taking the childish stance of
"oh yeah, what about (insert religion here)"
instead of understanding that THEY are the ones in the spotlight right now and THEIR PROBLEMS ARE SPILLING ALL OVER THE WORLD, because at the end of the day it all boils down to that osama bin laden should've never attacked the US, he knew exactly what would that entail and he did it in the name of allah and islam, yes we all saw the videos.
And they'll be kicking and screaming their rants about hypocrisy and anti-muslim and a lot of other garbage, but is becoming easier and easier to see thru their bulls*it.

An yes is very true the west and all its ideology has a lot to answer for, but unlike muslim countries we can practice any religion we want (most muslims countries is prohibited to have buildings or scriptures belonging to another religion other than islam, like turkey, saudi arabia, and they have to practice undercover like in iran) and pretty much say what we want w/out retribution, I could go on and on.

final point: yes the so-called west is warmongering but at least we have more sense in leaving god out of it and we dont shove our religion down everyone else's throat and ditto with the holier-than-thou attitude.

Islam's version of peace is to slay all of the opposition. This is factual. The problem is that Muslims have done with the Koran exactly what the Jews did with the old testament and what pseudo Christian cults have done with both testaments: they have added a body of writings to explain things and have given them the same credence as the original writings. For the Jews it is the midrash and the kabala, for the Muslim it is the addition of hadith. In the case of both writings, there is explicit teaching not to add to it. The fundamentalist, therefore, is not someone perverting "peaceful" Islam, rather he is a purist and only doing what it plainly teaches him to do.

Read the Qu'ran. Islam is a peaceful religion. It preaches meditation, resolution through prayer, and tolerance. Can I find a passage that says women are equal to men? No you can't. B/c they weren't back then. Not a passage that says that in the Christian bible either.

Some followers of the religion are crazy. Yeah a lot of serial killers in jail claim to be christian. You can't judge a religion based on a few radical individuals. In fact, they worship the same god as Christians and Jews, and it preaches compassion, charity, humility, and the brotherhood of man. Muhammad was a prophet and was elevated on the ranks of Abraham, Moses, and Christ.

The 5 pillars of Islam are:
*Testament of Faith or belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad;
*Daily prayers
*Concern for and almsgiving to the needy;
*Self-purification through fasting; and
*The pilgrimage to Mecca for those who are able

It does say to kill infidels in the Koran (I have a copy). Maybe if you can prove to them (Muslims) that Christianity is a religion of peace, then perhaps they will come forward with an answer. Right now, Christians are doing a pretty shoddy job of promoting peace.

Silly Christian, the Old Testament is clearly discriminatory against women and non believers. The New Testament doesn't show anything that is for the equality of women in fact it says that women should have no say in church. So obey your God and shut up. lol.
