One reason you could not have credit yet is that Capital One hasnt reported to the bureaus yet or they are reporting to one and not the other two. Credit card companies are not required to report credit history to all 3 bureaus, they can pick and choose which one they want to report to. If you are applying for something, they could be using the bureau that Cap One isnt reporting to.

Another reason is that it sometimes take a longer time for newer accounts to report to the bureaus as the companies are waiting for good payment history to appear.

The problem is - you are dealing with Cap One.

Cap One "does not" report credit limits, they only report the high balance. Because of that, they will not help your credit scores, in fact they are probably hurting them.

By not reporting a credit limit, and only showing a high balance, it looks like you are at 100% utilization on the account.

It's not only you that they are doing this to - it's everyone who has a card with them. And, they "will not" report your credit limit if you ask them to. (the pinheads)
It's unfortunate and I hope they end up getting sued over it someday.

If you don't qualify for a regular card, you would be better off getting a secured card from a different card company. Such as Bank of America, Orchard Bank or HSBC.

Seven months isn't a very long time when dealing with credit. Usually, a credit report under 2 years can be considered immature, especially if the credit limit is low. The credit bureaus only update their information every 3-6 months, so it might have not even shown up yet. Are you trying http://www.annualcreditreport.com ?

do no longer close it.. It seems such as you have the self-discipline to manage your credit in case you have been questioning of removing one. Use that card as quickly as a month (video clips, loaf of bread despite) and while the bill comes, in pay it. do no longer carry a stability. despite in case you do no longer prefer it, permit it artwork for you for the long-term. The constructive historical past you create (with out attempt) will for sure bring about bigger limits ,and maximum extreme, creditworthiness. You in no way know while that card might are available reachable. If there is an annual fee, you could probable negotiate that all the way down to no longer something in any respect by ability of explaining which you do no longer prefer the cardboard. once you're a sturdy credit hazard, that financial enterprise does not go with you to coach your card in. in case you nonetheless close it, make specific IT exhibits on your checklist which you VOLUNTARILY CLOSED IT or make the notation with the bureaus your self. it truly is the only time that final the account will harm you by using fact the financial enterprise might desire to no longer bypass interior the path of the difficulty of noitifying the 'credit Bureau as to why the account replaced into closed.

Check to make sure that CapOne and the Credit Bureaus have the same information for you (address, bday, etc). It may be that CapOne is reporting your history, but the credit bureau can't match or, or just that CapOne isn't reporting it. Call CapOne to make sure they are reporting your score as well.

Call the CC company. It should be reporting, and if it's your only account, your balance has stayed low & you don't have any negative history, you should be well within the 600's by now. Definitely contact the CC company to find out what's going on!
