It's because you were taught the wrong Genesis of life. There were already people before Adam and Eve and they were the people whom Cain was reffering to that may kill him if they see him wandering outside their garden. He did not marry one of his sisters just what the stupid religions are teaching up to now.
Eve's coming from Adam's ribs is just a methaphor to enlighten Adam that Eve did not come from his head to rule over her, nor from his feet to step on and nor from the hand to shape her to his whims but from his ribs to be by his side in their lives together.

He must have a sense of humor--if Adam and Eve were the only two created then who did Cain marry? Would have to be his sister wouldn't it or am I insane???
