This guy i know wont talk to me anymore because hes dating this girl. We use to be best friends but when he started to date her all strings were cut off..i know he cares for me but why do guys always cut you off when they start dating a girl..they have been dating for over a year now and anytime i try to text him or talk to him he makes it short or dosnt say anything back..whats the deal??!!!

I don't know why some guys do that but I would think it has something to do with he feels his new girlfriend may get jealous of him having female friends. as silly as that may sound many women can not stand for a guy to have female friends.

Well I don't usually do that... but maybe this guy is really really into this girl and likes her so much that he doesn't want to make her mad or risk losing the relationship by talking to other girls. Maybe she told him not to have female friends. Yeah thats pretty weak.. but some guys have no spine.
On the other hand, its also possible that he just doesn't want to be friends anymore and now he has an excuse not to talk to you.

I stay friends with my former female friends, but it makes my girlfriend very insecure. My ex-wife used to get very angry if I talked with my old college friend who had shared a house with me. She never would believe we didn't do anything. It just made it easier on the relationship to keep our conversations short and to the point. My new girlfriend is OK with me talking to old friends, but she seems to always try to eavesdrop on the conversations.

Because his girlfriend's being a selfish person by telling him to stop talking to you. OR he's just too busy.
