Why don't you understand that atheists don't believe in the scare tactics use to control people? Why do you think that telling people about "hell" will change their beliefs. Atheists don't believe in hell or god or whatever else it is you find in your damn holy book. Are you trying to convert people or just annoy them?

There is no hell. There wasn't a hell in Hebrew mythology either until the Captivity, when they learned about it from Zoroastrianism, and took the idea back to Israel with them. Before that, they believed the souls of the dead went to an underworld called Sheol (the pit) whether they were good or bad.

Ever notice that Genesis says "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" but hell is not on the list? That's because they didn't have a hell in their mythology.

I suspect that Judas Iscariot was at the last supper and heard Jesus' commentary that he was the bread of life and that in order to get into Heaven you had to eat his body and drink his blood and decided that Jesus was a nut. He may have felt Jesus was like Jim Jones or David Koresh (had they existed yet of course) and he reported him to the authorities. Accepting Jesus is accepting an insane fanatic is all powerfull, all knowing, all good, all living etc etc etc.

If you can't do that one, why worry about a non-existant hell.

Well I'm not an Atheist but I definately reject your god so I will answer anyways.

Yeah, I am well aware of what your hell is like, Christian descriptions range from lakes of fire and eternal torment to being non-existent or even as having never existed in the first place. But you don't get it, your heaven would be the ultimate hell for me. I'd rather burn in hell than bow down and worship your sadistic god.

Sure, I don't believe in it, so the concept is pretty clear.

Also the bible was very vague, so as a Catholic I had even less of a concept. It's really really really vague.

The thing about Athiesm is they don't BELIEVE it. Yeah, everybody hears about Eternal Damnation. Oooh, fiery pits of hell, fire, flame, beatings forever blahblahblah. All that. The point is, they know, and don't care, because to them it doesn't exist.
