I'm 14 and I'm getting into photography. I really want a DSLR camara but not too pricey. I already have a Canon EF 28-70mm f/2.8L lens from my dad's old camera, a Canon EOS 5/A2e/A2. He said that it could fit a digital SLR. Clearly, if I get a new SLR camara, I won't need to buy the new 24-70 mm lens. So, anyone know any good canon camaras that might suit me? Keep in mind that I'm the one who's raising the money for my own camera. Also, it has to be canon, according if I want to use my dad's lens.

The Canon Rebel XTi, a.k.a. 400D, is the current entry level model. It retails for about $670 (body only). Great camera.
Last year's model was very good as well. That one was called the Rebel XT, a.k.a. 350D. The XT retails for just $510 and you can probably find some fantastic deals on used models by now, too.
If you want all the details, here are two in-depth reviews for the 400D (these sites also list the 350D)

You can use the existing lens with one tiny provision... these digital models magnify lenses by a factor 1.6. This means that you will lose wide angle coverage with this particular zoom lens (you'll get a bit more reach at the long end in exchange.)

ADDED:
If you're in the USA, the Rebel XT can be found for $500 retail here:

The same store has the XTi for $680: http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=CNDRXTIB
BeachCamera is 100% reliable and those prices include shipping.
If you're outside the USA, the prices I mentioned in the original answer are from B&H. These guys ship internationally. This will cost a bit more in shipping and more importantly, you will not get a good warrantee with international purchases. It would probably be better to shop locally.
For used cameras, try eBay.

you can get the Canon Rebel XT a bit cheaper than the XTi. The extra 2Mpix aren't really that much different, and you'll save a couple hundred.
I've seen it with the kit lens and a 1G card, a case and other goodies for just over $600.

but sadly- DSLRs are still rather expensive.
