My aunt,confined to a wheelchair all her life wrote this.What do you think of it.?

Question

When my cross is heavy
and seems more than my share
it's then i meet another,
with a greater load to bear.

And as i stop to ponder,
my heart is filled with shame,
that i who have so much,
should even once complain.

And once again i go my way,
with faith and hope renewed,
and gratitude to God,
for my trials are so few.

Your aunt should forward this to SPS Studios, affiliate of Blue Mountain Greeting cards, but more refined than that online card generator site. Reviewing can take up to 8 months for those that are very seriously ready for publication but I think this one would be a very nice one to submit. Only slight snag may be that the majority of what they publish doesn't rhyme, but still this is so nice that there would be a greeting card co. like this one or Hallmark that I think would love to have it for a card. I'd love to see this in publication at some point...I think it would make a very special card under Thinking of you, Friends and/or Religious Cards.

Yes and no. Structurally it is a sound poem, and it seems to communicate a lesson learned. There are a lot of people worse off than you.

However, that is not really a reason to be thankful to God. Sure we can be thankful to God for all the blessings he's given us, but to base our thanks on being better off than the next person is missing it a little.

What happens if we are depressed and losing our faith, and can't find another person worse off than ourselves? The joy of the Lord is our strenght. Delight yourself in his faithfulness.

That's a great poem to remind us that when we think that we have it bad, someone is always in a worse situation.
Your aunt has a good outlook on life even though she has every reason to feel sorry for herself.

I think its very well written and very inspiring. It makes one realize that despite the hardships and trials we face, there is someone out there who has it worse and that we are blessed in many countless ways and somehow we sometimes fail to be grateful or acknowlege that.
