The fast but NOT permanent fix is to stop eating carbs.
10 lbs is NOT a lot of weight to lose. I just recommend eating healthy foods.
If you are looking to maintain a lower weight, I suggest joining weight watchers. I started it 8 weeks ago, and I have never been happier. I can eat a plethora of foods, I am not limited to anything, and I am steadily losing weight.
If you don't like watching what you eat, you should exercise for 30 minutes at least 3 times a week. Make sure that whatever you do is cardio related.

increase your cardio! get moving! The more calories you burn, the quicker the weight comes off. Also, try cutting out the empty calories: Sodas, sugar drinks- instead try water. Forget the elevator, take the stairs. I would recommend running, or swimming, or dancing to music alone in your room for 45 mins to an hour daily, until june. in addition to cutting calories

You need to calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate.
Use this:
http://www.weightlossforgood.co.uk/bmr_calculator.htm
Once you've found your rate, DON'T exceed this number of calories each day (i.e. if your BMR is 1500, don't eat anymore than 1500 calories a day).
Then you'll lose weight fast but healthily, without losing muscle.
Each time you lose 7lbs, you gotta go back to the website and re-calculate your calorie allowance, as your BMR will drop as you lose weight.

Moderate quantities of food at regular intervals
No salt, no fats, no sugar. Much water. Moderate exercise.
And most important: Do not panic!
10lbs by June is reasonably easy.
