If you can find one, get the Canon Powershot A75 - it's a 3.2 megapixel unit that takes CompactFlash cards. It's very reasonable and capable, I got mine a few years ago for $190 at BJ's Club. If you can't find that particular model, try finding any cheap camera that takes a CompactFlash card.

Once you have that, get a 256Meg CompactFlash card to put into it. The other day, I saw these at an Eckerd Drug Store, on sale for $17. The combination of a cheap camera and cheap memory is great for what you want. At absolutely maximum resolution and quality, my 3.2 megapixel camera will store about 150 pictures. What you can do is tell the camera to store smaller pictures at lower quality, or just get two (or more) CompactFlash cards.

the number of pictures is related to the size of the memory card and the resolution and picture quality u set ur digital camera ...
the higher the resolution the lesser the number of pictures ur card can store ((so if u have a 1 gb memory u can store about 250-300 pic with 10 megapixels and 450-550 with 6 megapixels))
the higher the quality setting the lesser the number of shoots.
the higher the size of ur memory the higher the number of shoots.
so go with a large size memory ((512 mb and higher)) and check this site for cameras features and prices.:
