How do Americans continue to justify pretending to be GOD fearing people in spite of all this crap? What kind of sick joke is this? I understand the history of how this came to be, and all that's fine and dandy for what it's worth, but if Americans pretend to love Jesus so much, why would they continue to carry out a pagan ritual that's been sprinkled here and there with a few Christian concepts that specifically caters to the hedonistic consumer addicted sycophantic godless American pseudo-culture and still pretend that it's about loving the son of GOD? That's sickening. So why America? Can't you choose one way or the other? You're either Americans or you're GOD fearing, since those 2 are conflictual by the very nature of their design and practice, ya can't be both.

kenshiro, I know the history of it, as I said already. I appreciate the only answer that used any thought instead of echoing rhetoric or using frivolous humor, but that's not the answer I was looking for. awww, screw it, I guess technically it could be considered the answer I was looking for, thanks also to the ppl who have a sense of humor, but that was definitely not what I was looking for.

Why are you so angry and judgmental?
Who decided that Christians are pretending? You? The bible says not to judge, or you will be judged the same way in return.
Christians know the meaning of Easter and go to considerable trouble to tell others what it is. They plan for hours, work for hours to present the true story of Easter through music, dramatic pageants, etc. so people will learn the true meaning of Easter.
The Easter bunny, and eggs, etc come from a lot of traditions and rituals and I think myself that God allows them to develop just so the holiday itself will be noticed by the secular world as well as the Christian one. It is the same way with Christmas....the trees, and Santa, and lights, etc....all make the world pay more attention and give Christians an opportunity to tell the "real" message. Why do you think right now the "world" tried every way it can to get rid of the "Easter bunny", the "Christmas Tree", etc. Because it reminds them of what we really are celebrating.
Does that mean they can't also have fun with the eggs, and the bunnies, and the candy, and the stockings, and the trees? Some choose not to, but I raised five kids who all learned the true meanings of Christmas and Easter....and Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny were just for fun....and today...my grandchildren do the same thing....and they know which is the true meaning of Easter, and which is just for fun like any other game.
Even at church we had an Easter breakfast....an Easter Service with beautiful music, the Easter story...and afterwards an Easter egg candy hunt for all the kids. Why? Because we will use whatever will draw people who never go to church, to come with their children and hear what Easter is all about. Is that any reason we can't include fun for their kids? Not in my mind.
So why be so judging ...when we see people come to find Christ...which is what Easter is all about. The bible says to "Judge not, that you be not judged". I'll choose to follow God and encourage people to find Him ....yes using the fun of Easter eggs if I need to.....they will find Jesus in the message! And since your question relates a lot of feelings of hate...... Maybe you need to find Him too!

Christ died for our sins as well as rise three days later my family goes to church and my 5 year old is learning about Jesus and think What Jesus did for us is wonderful but the easter bunny is just for entertainment and for some reason i think she knows that or maybe the easter bunny in my daughters mind was created by God so they are close friends aww the innoccense of a child,

You have opened the proverbial "can of worms" my man. The Bunny has NOTHING to do with Christ. NOR DOES BOILED EGGS. Nor does Santa or the Xmas tree. Now consider this: you and every child born in our nation for the last one-hundred years has been brought up, nurtured and fed lie-after-lie-after-lie. Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Mother Goose, the ghosts of Halloween, the Big Blue Ox, John Henry, Pecos Bill, Johnny Appleseed, Rip Van Winkle, thhe Headless Horseman, etc., etc. Our children have been led astray and fed lies. And for desert they were given Freddy, Jason, vampires and werewolves. now when they murder their parents, their school mates and commit suicide everyone ask, "Whats Wrong with America's Children". Well its just that we have lied to them all of their lives about everything from religion to history to sex. and now that they have become what we made them we send them away to war to die for our sins.This is very ugly, and God does not like ugly.

the celebration that we know as easter was changed by the catholic church from being a holiday to celebrate crucifiction and resurrection to being the celebration of a pegan god of fertility hence the egg. along with the fertility of the rabbit and why it is always celebrated in spring and not on the correct date which should be april 17th historically. same with halloween and sunday worship as opposed to the sabbath. they use circular logic as show of authority by saying they have the power to change the sabbath based upon the daughter churches willingness to follow such things. whereas God has other churches that have not changed their sabbath.

I am not sure where the idea of the rabbit with eggs started from. but I think it started from a School of small children. maybe a Teacher came up with the idea, I have no idea.
