Theists believe in some form of God(s). Yet, theists cannot prove, conclusively, that their God(s) exist. Thus, their beliefs are a form of Faith! Faith in the existence of God!
Atheists believe in no God(s). Yet, atheists cannot prove, conclusively, that any God(s) do not exist. Thus, their beliefs are also a form of Faith! Faith in the non-existence of God!
Thus, there is no objective means for determining which is "right" and/or preferable because neither has a logical or empirical advantage over the other.
Hence, the only reason for going with one or the other -is- faith!
So, the real queston is... What REALLY makes theists and atheists any different? (And please don't say the obvious answer)

I really do not think it matters what the difference is. We all have our own beliefs and our own opinions about life and death. What does matter is how we live our lives and treat those around us. I think it is time that we try to embrace one another for who we are and what we do, regardless of whether or not we believe there is a God.

Well, some people feel that faith is blind credulity. Belief without evidence. That is untrue both in the spiritual world and the profane. Can anybody prove there is wind? "Well, yes of course!" some say. How? You cannot see wind. Its existence is proved by its effect, its influence, its force on other things and persons, yes?
It is true that nobody can see God. But his existence can be proved in much the same way. The person who has 'faith' in wind or gravity – neither of which can be seen – is really no different that the person who has faith in God.
Faith is not a belief absent evidence.

"Atheists believe in no God(s). Yet, atheists cannot prove, conclusively, that any God(s) do not exist. Thus, their beliefs are also a form of Faith! Faith in the non-existence of God!"
What a horrible argument, but I wasn't expecting much.
There's a huuuuge difference between believing something that was taught to you by people who had it taught to them by other people who read this unlikely tale about some dude in the sky AND not caring to actively participate in the idiocy that it implies.
That argument is so loosely worded, much like anything any of you religious people choose to argue, that it could apply to almost anything in the world.
FOR ONCE, say something that actually means something.
If you're going to try to argue the existence of something that just cannot be proven, please do it intelligently, or stop wasting your time.
Your arguments are shallow and simple and will never make more sense then believing what is known to be true. True as in evident, true as in not believing in what you've been told is socially acceptable to believe. It's pathetic.
"Wrong, the lack of empirical evidence gives the advantage to the atheists, who base our belief around the fact that there is no evidence for the existence of God. "
Well written.

Good reasonable argument. I'm a Theist and I believe in some form of God but I don't believe in all the things connected to God (religious beliefs). I don't know what makes them different, I agree that it's all about having faith in one thing or the other.

this would not count number that what the Theist's or Atheist's way of questioning for Universe or The God. maximum crucial element is the stability ! There continuously would desire to be the stability good or undesirable and so on. If one edge would not exist the international would be going to a minimum of one direction and could overlook approximately that is different edge. And if by some means it has to stand that is different edge lower back then it will be very perplexing for it to stand that and the international could be fall in large and undesirable uncertainties. So Theists and Atheists are the portion of single coin, and the might is impossible with out them.

Faith is believing in something in which you can't prove exists. Atheists don't believe it exists to begin with, so it isn't Faith. Logical? Well, you can always take that too far as well... but if I told you I had a Unicorn in my backyard, you'd want proof, otherwise you won't believe I have one, right? Does this mean you have Faith that I don't have a Unicorn in my backyard? No. Now, if you believe I do have a Unicorn in my backyard without proof, then you have Faith.
That IS the difference.

An atheists non belief is not a form of faith junior.
Lets see...the big difference difference is evidence and fact. The theist has no evidence and the atheist has the fact that no evidence exists.

The difference is intelligence, which you seem to be demonstrating quite well. Atheists do not "disprove" god, especially since you cannot prove a negative. We are asking for proof. Theists only say, I have faith therefore it is all the proof that I need. To us it is not a matter of right or wrong, it is a matter of faith verses intelligence. We choose intelligence. We do not have "faith" that god does not exist, we onlyt ask for proof.

But Atheism does indeed have a logical advantage.
I'm a theist but I recognize that it is by faith. There is no proof. While Atheists also cannot disprove God, there is still logic in the thinking that something which has never been evidenced most likely does not exist.

The Theist has a faith based on Hope that their is something greater than us, and better for us when our soul passes from this life to our promised life afterwards.
The Atheist has a faith based on nothing, because according to their belief, their faith, there is nothing. Therefore they live for themselves and their own betterment.
There are Theist that are horrible people and vice versa, and there are Atheist that are great people and vice verse, but the lack of that hope and grace is what keeps the good God fearing Theist going.
God bless you and thanks for the opportunity to spread the truth.
