Unless there is a "TIP" cup right there at the register, no, you usually don't.

If the person who took your order was really nice or extremely helpful in some way, you could have left a tip when you paid your bill, but I wouldn't leave a full 20%, maybe 10%. But, if you sat at a table while waiting for your food, you should leave a full tip because they may have missed out on another tip while you were sitting there.
Usually, my rule is that if they aren't "serving" me and I didn't interfere with them getting another tip, then there was no need to tip.
Hope that helps!

You probably don't have to leave a tip for take-out orders. I leave a $1 in the jar if there is one on the counter.
I do this because the people at the restaurant work on their feet all day. I figure an extra $1 won't kill me and it puts me in the good graces of the wait staff. Sometimes, I get 'extras'.
The Chinese take-out place I frequent, will give me extra noodles or larger portions so I keep coming back!

I am a Jew. This is a source of debate between me and a Greek guy I know whose relatives own diners in disproportionate amounts. Ultimately, I'd say, don't leave a tip.

Yes.
I really don't see why you feel the need to tip them: do you tip them at the dry-cleaner's?
