I saw previews of this on television the other day, and can't wait to purchase the entire series. The videos were made using a new high tech camera, that can actually zero in on the smallest insect from outer space.
I can't look at all the forms of life and nature on our planet and not believe in God? All of these things could not have come about by chance, coincidence, or out of the blue.

For those who don't believe in God, without anger or defensiveness, how do you believe these things came about, from the tiniest insect, the largest mammal, to Mountains, planets and all? Please don't mention the big bang theory for years ago. There is no way such fine detail exists from a big burst of disorgination.

The reason I say there has to be a God, is because of the detail and intelligent design involved. It has to be a source who thinks, imagines, plans, and all that, that is above human. I refer to that as God. But I am asking those who feel differently what you believe is the cause of all these things.

This is unbelievable!! I specifically asked for those who do NOT believe in God, to explain how they felt life was designed, and not just provide angy comments of defensiveness, yet that is what I've received.
Don't become angry with me because I have a different opinion. My having a specific belief, has nothing to do with you explaining your own. Your comments which say "since i have my own views, why ask yours" sounds like a cop out.
Since so many atheists hang in this category, I thought you would be interested in sharing your views, but it appears you're only interested in knocking the views of those who believe in God. Why comment for the sole purpose of putting down what others believe, if you're not insightful enough to explain what you do believe?

I agree with you! Life on earth is way to complex to have been created by accident! It's like a tornado sweeping through a junkyard and assembling a Boeing 747. It isn't going to happen!! God definitley created the earth, and that makes the most sense!!

ok, so then what started the big bang? also, i know that science has made some great advances, but at the same time, there are also instances where something is thought to be a definite and then later is found to be totally false so i cant place too much faith in that either. sorry.

You know, some people can claim that aliens made everything. That makes just as much sense as the bible and guess what, there is just as much evidence to support that idea than what the bible has for creationism.
Evolution is capable of creating all of the extremely diverse groups of organisms because it has something special. Lots and lots of time. Hundreds of millions of years. Heck, even a couple billion if you really want to get to some of the earliest single cell animals.
Do you even have any concept of how big a billion is?
Lets say you have a billion dollars and you are going to spend $1 per second until you spend it all. How long would it take you to spend it? You would be spending $86,400 a day. It would take you over 30 years to spend it all. Just a single billion is a large number. Lets say an organism only changes .0001% each year. Do the math and see how much that change will become over the course of a billion years. From one year to the next, the creatures are almost 100% the same, however over the course of a billion years, there will be hundreds of different types of animals given just that small of a change rate.

I can't give you an answer without watching the show but even if I did watch it I would still be skeptical about gods existence. There is no proof of gods existence and just because their are complicated life forms on earth doesn't prove a thing. If god does exist why does he insist on giving us clues and little hints of his existence and then leave it up to us to figure it out? If he is god why doesn't he just come out and show us that he exists? Because of faith? People are killing each other over this belief, either he does not care or he does not exist. Just because reindeer's, sleds, x-mas trees, and presents exist, it doesn't mean that Santa Claus exists. Whoever or whatever created earth and set it in motion is long gone or died a long time ago.

If you argue that the universe is too complex to come about by chance, how do you explain God, being infinitely complex, having no system of incremental development? Science suggests an incremental process by which organisms and ecosystems became complex by starting simply, and changing slowly over time. Religion offers no explanation for how things became complex other than that there is a massive intellect in the universe that made it this way, and then offers no origin or explanation for this intelligence. If you argue that nature is too complex to exist in the absence of design, then logically you must apply this same reasoning to the infinite complexity of an omniscient, omnipotent deity.

Well, I honestly do not know how it all came to be. The thing is, you don't either.
Who created God?
If you are getting your inspiration from the discovery channel, have you seen the shows they have had on about dinosaurs? They were here long before humans right? Science has proven that. So... Adam and Eve being on earth within the first week of it's existance.... well you get the idea.
I do not care to argue about faith. I am glad so many people find peace in religion. I guess I just wish I could get some peace from all the Bible people telling me I am a sinner b/c I question some of the beliefs.
See where I am coming from?

I just saw the beauty of a dung beetle rolling a ball of horseshit uphill, and I thought.....
How can anyone look at dung beetles and not believe in a Purple Chimp with golden horns hanging from the Heavenly Branch while He eats his own feces?
For those who doubt the existence of the Purple Chimp, how do you believe dung beetles came about?
There is no way such fine and clean insect exists from a big burst of "disorgination" (whatever that means).

When you watch the program and see the part about Giant Pandas, you will learn that Pandas can only care for one offspring at a time. But, they tend to give birth to more than one. So, mom gets to decide which BABY she will leave to the elements, so that it may die a horrible death, perhaps at the hands of a predator. You will also learn about a wasp that stings its prey and then deposits eggs into it so that the wasp's young can dine on the LIVING FLESH of another living creature. You will also learn that Tasmanian Devils give birth to six to eight young, but have only four nipples - so they EAT whatever BABIES are left...
Whats that about God creating things again? What kind of God would create animals that eat their own offspring?? That raise their young on the living flesh of another? That would abandon its offspring? Thats not God - thats Nature.

It saddens me deeply that evolution is not taught in schools. So many people seem to think evolution means that the amazing variety of life on earth came about because of "chance" or some "coincidence". This is NOT what evolution is about. Natural selection is a perfectly natural process. Go read a book about it.
